Welcome to my home!
I am very lucky to live in Lower Largo, a very beautiful coastal village in the East Neuk of Fife. It’s appropriate that I live there as “Largo” is a musical term (meaning broadly or slowly) and “Lower” suits my voice! Also, although it is a small place, it was the home to a very famous character from a book written 300 years ago! Have you read the book “Shipwrecked” by Daniel Defoe? Maybe you recognise the name of its central character… Robinson Crusoe!
Robinson Crusoe’s real name was Alexander Selkirk and he was born in Lower Largo. He joined the navy and travelled the seas but unfortunately his ship was destroyed by a storm. He made it to a tropical island where he lived by himself for 28 years before being rescued. “Shipwrecked” is a great book and has been the inspiration for many other “shipwreck” stories and movies over the years. If you haven’t read it before or want to read it again, take a trip to your local library and see if they have a copy.
I love to walk along the beach and listen to the power of the sea!
