SPECIALISED DOUBLE BASS LESSONS for Grown-ups of ALL ages’n’stages!

The BassMeant provides dedicated double bass tuition for adult players of all ages’n’stages in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. Whether you’re just starting out, looking to refresh your skills, or preparing for an audition, our lessons are tailored to help you develop technique, musicianship and confidence in a supportive and inspiring environment.

For Double Bassists living further afield, an online tuition option is also available, making the programme accessible to bassists wherever you are based.

We are Passionate & Experienced about all things bass! Whatever style, we’ve got it covered!

• A FREE Trial lesson

  • 30 individual lessons per year, delivered in person with the option to blend with online lessons, by a very experienced, specialist double bass teacher.

  • All music books!

  • Essential accessories including rosin, floor protector, duster & more!

  • Help to find a suitable sized double bass, bow & case where necessary.

  • Preparation for Trinity or ABRSM Grade Exams* and regional/national ensembles* (* NOT compulsory. Please note that the exam and accompanist fees are not included in the lesson charges).

  • The opportunity to attend special double bass events with other players involved in the programmes, organised by the Bessy Academy. These will be a mix of online and in person events.

  • Priority booking and discounted tickets for Bessy Bass hosted public Events.

  • 20% Discount on all Bessy Bass products in our shop.

THE NUMBERS BIT…


There is an easy pay plan, spreading the cost of the 30 lessons (in person/or online) over 12 months.

The initial lesson is FREE so your will have a total of 31 lessons over the year.

OPTION BA1
30 MIN LESSON - beginners/under 14s
12 monthly payments of £69 (pay for 30 lessons, get 31)
OR
1 annual payment of £772 (pay for 28 lessons, get 31!)

OPTION BA2

45 MIN LESSON - intermediate/over 14s
12 monthly payments of only £103 (pay for 30 lessons, get 31)
OR
1 annual payment of £1159 (pay for 28 lessons, get 31!)

OPTION BA3

60 MIN LESSON - Advanced/over 16s
12 monthly payments of £138 (pay for 30 lessons, get 31)
OR
1 annual payment of £1545 (pay for 28 lessons, get 31!)
